I was stuck in traffic yesterday on m25 and figured I'd try out the traffic jam assist. It took some getting use to and trusting it to stop and steer but it worked amazingly well. Their is just one major design flaw imho. Does anyone else find they are constantly flashing the poor driver in front by accident because they pull the wrong a stick! Lexus had this licked as they put it on other side this removing the possibility of error.

Not had an issue, but my A6 had the stick in the same place so I'm pretty used to it by now.

Before I bought the Q7 I looked at the XC90 (my dad drives one), one of the reasons I opted for the Q7 is that the controls just felt so natural. Amazing how these things become muscle memory after a while.

    Yes very much so
I've been driving a Q7 for year and a half now

And my last car all the adaptive cruse was on the steering

In fact come to think of it the last 18 years my controls have been on the steering wheel

I was surprised with audi still bing controlled by a stalk
Would much rather it being on the steering wheel

So understand where your coming from

I like it the way it is, I can re-engage without taking my eyes off the road or hands off the wheel.

I just swapped my Land Rover DS for a Q7 and the cruise controls on that were on the main wheel for the right thumb, very handy. One very small niggle for the otherwise amazing ACC system.

I prefer the stalk. As Boman said, I find it easy to use. Took a little while to adapt from the X5 as although in a similar place, the up / down and fwd / back motions did the opposite. I think it would be a bit cluttered to have VC, media and ACC controls on the wheel
