Smokin on tick over

Hey,

I'm new to this forum so hey! I have a 2008 2.0 TDI Quattro b7 170bhp a4 but it smokes on tick over and now when I'm in a traffic jam I can see a bit of smoke coming out the back which is starting to be a bit embarrassing.

Any ideas, oh I have replaced egr valve.

My smoke is black, if I had oil in the fuel would that mean the smoke would be blue?

Also what would cause fuel to be in the oil.

If it's totally black smoke look for a leak in the boost system, split pipe or poor sealing or intercooler leaking. If there is oil in the fuel filter then it might be the tandem pump. When do you see this smoke during the day? Or do you only notice at night.

Has it had the DPF removed and a remap to suit?

Had a remap but then put it back to standard as when the turbo was under load it used to chuck loads of smoke out, when it was booted it was clean.

It was fantastic but could never understand why between 1000 - 2500 rpm just chucked loads of smoke out.
