My 2012 a6 has a front parking camera which is only showing a fuzzy white fog.
Its been like that since I bought the car, is the camera it's self broken or is it the lens? Either way I'm assuming I need a new one? Any ideas on where to get one And what's involved in changing it?
    Thanks

Mine is similar on my A7. It’s just moisture inside the lens. Mine still works and shows a picture but dependant on weather and temperatures can be a little less sharp than I’d expect. I’m pretty rigid with things being perfect and immaculate but won’t be changing this until it fails

It looks like the lens is missing on the camera, problem is I have never seen another one to compare it to.

Have you got the cameras in your wing mirrors to give the overhead effect?

    Hi,

Yes - the overhead view is blended from the front, rear and wing mirror cameras I think. It's really useful when you're trying to park in the lines of a bay and you're not sure if you are straight

It's also possible to switch to the "sensor" view you can see in the post from hotgogs above, but I prefer the overhead camera view.

Is the second icon down useful for seeing out of blind junctions? The image suggests it's a side view from the bumper?
Could be a good reason to go for the Advanced parking next time if that is the case.

Yes, there are front and rear side views for pulling out of blins spots. However, the images left and right are obtained from the front and rear centrally-mounted cameras, not from separate cameras mounted at the corners.

There is a clear plastic hemisphere over the camera lens to protect it. Sorry, haven't got a pic.
