Since returning from the continent my network setting in Connection Manager, reverts to Manual as a default position.

Each time it does, I reset it to Automatic and the next day, I find it is once more back to manual.

    Anyone any experience of this?

It's a BT Mobile SIM card with 20GB of data per month.

May I just ask - I thought the q7 came with three years of built in connectivity. A lot of the owners here on this forum seem to have their own additional data plans. Am I missing something, or is the Audi 3 years data plan insufficient?

    thanks.

I'm not sure Jonny. Mine was 10 x weeks old when I got it (demonstrator-car) but I think the data-plan was more like 3 x months.

Mine doesn’t have the embedded SIM but I think if you want the wireless hotspot functionality (e.g for kids iPads) you needed to pay extra and I believe the 3rd party sims were better value for money.

Now that we get the much better roaming costs, there seems little advantage to the embedded sim beyond the basic MMI functionality.

Ah, OK. Seems like a hotspot functionality. Makes sense. Thanks.

Poole Audi put a different SIM in the car and found the settings stayed as we're for registration, so the issue must be with the settings BT Mobile gave me whilst I was in Spain.

I am with O2 and my car SIM doesn't work abroad since the 15th of June when the EU thing came up. O2 says that they don't have agreements for date usage only in Europe and that they will recognise and ban the device from using the data through the card. Very annoying but I'm glad I'll be moving from the A7 to the Q7 with the built SIM

I'd be moving from O2 as well if they claim that.
