Thanks mate, I took all four plugs out and that helped drain the water out.
I think it's getting through the left inner light. No idea how yet.

I still suggest to check the sealing there.

There is no seal between the light and body. Is the supposed to be?

It was a hard to find, took a long time, but I found my post with my pictures. So, here they are, please refer to my issue:

Are the rear Tails lights a sealed unit ?

As you can see, this kind of a sealing solution is not very practical, as you can't see damage from the outside, while the sealing could be absolutely useless in the inside.

Im my case, it seems that sometimes, somewhere, somehow something hit the lamp unit, and that caused the problem later.

To be honest, it seems to me, that this is a one time sealing solution, so IMHO if you remove the unit, you will have to replace this "duck tape" like solution, even it was good before the removal.

I think there are 2 type of rear lights. Led and halogen types. The halogen ones are meant to be removed as bulbs are serviceable by the owner where as the led ones are sealed for life.

In my case - with this kind of sealing - I have LED+halogen, all LED, except the rear white light, which is halogen in my case.

However you can be right about the two types, because if I remember well, I read somewhere that the new units are full LED, including the white light too.

I think my old s line had a halogen/filament bulb for reverse and rest was led.
There's was a credit card type tool that came with the halogen Ones to remove the whole light cluster for changing bulbs if I remember right. Halogen was se spec for U.K.

Thanks mate. Is the spongey like stuff is supposed to be a seal. My left one looks pretty poor so that makes sense.

Just to clear this up for anyone who is following.
I replaced the cluster and it seems all good now
The seal above had failed causing water to collect in the boot lid and short the light.

Can the seal not get replaced or some body sealant be used instead?
Seems expensive to replace the cluster when a bit of rubber has failed
