HI all, in desperate need of some feedback advice regarding a 64 plate A7 with 49k on the clock. Got the (what seems common) gearbox malfunction light come on a couple of months back. Car got towed away to Audi nottingham who asked if the gearbox oil had been changed at 38k. Spoke to Williams select in manchester who i bought the car from in July last year (16) who confirmed it hadn't been done - the car was just over 38k at 38,167 when purcahsed. Audi have now said the warranty is invalid. Fats forward 2 months and lots of backwards and forwards with Audi Uk Customer services and pretty much f*cked - they or Williams select don't want to know.
Ive taken to an independent that solely works on automatic transmissions - they've looked at it and said that the gearbox is faulty, 2 parts have snapped off. 100% nothing to do with the gearbox oil not being changed. They have only said that it needs a new gearbox at a cost of £9k, audi quoted £12k.

Has anyone got any advice for me here as you can imagine i can't and don't fancy throwing £9k at a car that is still under manufacturers warranty!!

They're using the fact that gearbox oil wasn't changed as a get out here.

Anyone else had similar issues.. HELP!!

What I do have is paperwork that states it has an extended warranty to 5 years.. Which, if the original servicing wasn't carried out would be void

The issue is with William's as they have miss described the vehicle .

The bad practice even extends to main dealer Audi approved vehicles being sold with a first engine oil service being carried out at 29K.
