I was doing only a 15/20 mins drive for few past days and yesterday i didn't drive the car al all. This morning when I switch it on, massage came up on the VC saying my battery is running low and it will auto shut-off if I donlt start driving. I don't have dash-cam or anything running or lights were off etc. Was it suppose to be like that?

Another thing noticed, after a comparatively smooth dirve around the area for 30 mins or so this morning (after that message), when I parked the car in the drive and switched off the engine, the fan was still blowing hard and kept on doing that for a while, which I haven't notice before. is it something worth talking to the dealer about?

I had the battery warning and then a flat battery (twice) but that was caused by the towbar and the coding not being done properly. Since recoding, it's been fine. And I left it at the airport for a week just after the coding was sorted and it was fine when I returned. 15/20 mins should be enough time to keep the battery topped up if doing it daily as the car shuts down most systems after only a couple of minutes when you turn it off (this is what Audi assist showed me when my battery was draining - within a couple of minutes the power draw was minimal once the coding had been resolved). Had you had the ignition on for a long time any time before the message came up (whilst washing the car?) Have you only had the message once?
    How old is the car/battery?

The second part is most likely the DPF regen. Mine does it loads, gets a slight burning smell too when it's doing it and you can feel the heat when near the front end.

The car was bought new and with us for just over a month or so (and so does the battery as well, I assume). I was also getting a sort of heat-wave feeling from the battery compartment underneath the floor on the driver's side. My daughter might have something watching on the screen when the car was in the drive couple of days ago but cannot be more than 10 mins or so. This is the first time I get that message.

I'm worrying about the fact that I'm going away and need to park the car at the airport for two weeks or so.

I'm sure it's nothing. Mine (an A6) started doing this too and it's also brand new. As I said, mine was due to the towbar coding and eventually went dead as a dodo. Twice.

It could be that because you've only done short trips and have been watching the screen etc just caused the battery charge to drop. Even if just left running on the driveway, this will help charge the battery and that's all Audi assist did after they'd given the battery about 10-20 mins charge on their power pack.

The heat from under the car will be from the exhaust. When it does a DPF regen, the exhaust runs very hot so you'll most likely be feeling that. They usually idle slightly higher too when doing a regen but to be honest I never really notice and only do once I've turned the car off and the fans are still running. I have a sticker on my door jam that says a symbol will come on the dash if I need to leave it running when it's doing a regen, but I've never seen it.

It's probably all fine. As I said, i left mine for a week at the airport very shortly after I'd had a flat battery and the software coding corrected and it was absolutely fine. Boot opened and doors unlocked and started no problems.

Worst case scenario is you call Audi assist, and they'll send out either a patrol or the AA to get you started... but I really doubt that will happen.

I don't do long runs that often but park my car up whilst away between 4-6 weeks several times a year and the car starts on the button. I was considering investing in a jump start pack but after my first trip away decided not too. If you're concerned pop into the dealership I am sure they could test the battery for you.

I'm still about three weeks away from my trip, so will watch out for few more days before I take the car to the dealer. But you saying two weeks parking at the airport should be just fine?
I'm returning in the middle of the night and definately not gonna like to stand in car park for AA

2 weeks should be no problem provided you don't have an issue with the car. Enjoy your break.
