Hi guys, a quick one: I was under the impression that the passenger side fuses were on switched power supply (regular UK car). However, after finally getting around to fitting the hardwiring kit, no matter if I used an empty slot or going for the used one, all of them seem to be permanently on (the cam simply won't switch off).
At the moment, I have it plugged into the upper bank (yellowish one) and the (-) is on the big nut just above.
    What am I doing wrong?!?!

Is it using the battery to stay on after the engine goes off? Could be a setting on the camera. Which hardwire kit are you using as some have a battery to keep it going 5 mins longer I think after switch off

Using the Nextbase kit and A119s cam. All worked as expected on the 12v socket and also it switched off as expected when I unplug the fuse... So utterly confused.

I've used fuse 40 I think which was the 12v socket and just used the piggy back for the normal fuse. Works fine for me. I suspect you've picked a permanent live

Staying on indefinitely? When I was using a multimeter to test which fuses turn off, I noticed that most, if not all stay live for a few minutes after the ignition is turned off. Do you have access to a multimeter? Below is a quote of mine from a previous thread on dashcams in the A6 which might help.

The switched fuses don't lose voltage until a few mins after the ignition turns off, if you want to test with a multimeter give it a few mins.

i feel your pain with trying tp get a power supply,i thought i understood that the passenger side was all permanent and the driver was switched.i wired firstly to the passenger to find my battery would go flat after a few days of non-use of car then rewired to drivers side and tapped in to the horn fuse that does stay alive for a few minutes proven using a multimeter.BUT the battery still goes flat after a few days of non-use so i now just unplug the cam.
I look forward to your findings and results.....just give it a few days of non-use.

Thanks guys. Abroad at the moment and due to nice temperature, I actually take the cam off its base as it is getting cooked. So, problem mitigated temporarily. Nonetheless, it really still bugs me and will get down to it as soon as back home...
