That's mine now with a leak.

I looked at all the work involved removing the panels in the right sequence so decided to let an expert do it.

It's booked in next Wednesday with a local German Car workshop.

Well it's done after 5 hours in the waiting room. The quote was 3/4 hour at £60 per hour.

Both door and right hand side boot panels had to be removed. The culprit was eventually found in the door hinge right hand gaiter. I was 99.99999% sure that's where it would be.

Unfortunately the water piping does not have a smooth bore so a simple plug joiner was impossible. The pipe is corrugated so a special joint had to be made with a piece of rubber brake hose and adhesive. I assume the corrugation is to allow it to flex when the gate is opened and closed.

Credit to the garage, they only charged me the quoted 3/4 hour (£60)

This is clearly an issue with VW's. My garage said they've done all sorts including a lot of Golfs, Transporters. Is there a way of telling them? Would they listen?

I used simple T piece. To me it didn't matter if it was corrugated or not?
    Glad its sorted.
