Hi, i have been trying to get the lap timer to work in my 2012 3.0 tdi quattro 245 and not having much luck. I really only want it for boost gauge and oil temp but cant get it to display. I followed instruction and ticked box with VCDS, but cant get it to display on dash. I got needle sweep working fine but no lap timer. Any ideas ?

Once it is enabled you need to go and select it.

Set the MMI to Onboard computer or whatever you have selected in that "tree". Clock the button to the right of the OK button on the steering wheel (left side of the wheel) and use the left hand scroll wheel to scroll to the bottom of the list - Lap Timer should be near the bottom.

Not sure if works with the mono DIS or just the colour one ...

I have only managed to get this working on the colour dis and not all of them can have it enabled. There must be a few part numbers and it only works with some of them.

Ok, it's definitely not in any menu. Tryed manual gearbox modes ect. Not there. When people talk about colour display, mine has some colour all new menu items at top and blue arrow on Sat nav. It thus colour display or is the colour one the display year has Google maps on it?

It depends on the DIS version, there was a period, when the LAP timer was not installed into the DIS unit.
