Hi, still on my first 500 miles and trying out the technology. On the most part working exactly as I would hoped.
Driving along the M25 the other day using ACC, clear motorway, light traffic, no overhead speed limit signs, car suddenly started decelerating and braking, took me a couple of seconds to work out that it had switched to 30 mph speed limit. 30 mph was flashing on HUD as car was decelerating. Did something similar around the same point on the return journey.
It seems to be picking up correct smart motorway signals but with the occasional totally wrong ones!
my guess is that there is something in the satnav at that point on the M25 which the car is using.
    Anyone have similar experiences?

If your acc is set to the speed limit both my Q does this like you say it's often in the same place
my car don't slow down though as the acc is not set to the speed limit
on a stretch of 30 near my home the hud starts flashing and for a half mile the limit goes up to 60 yet I'm still in a 30
same as you I'm thinking it's a sat nav thing

the other probi Have and I think most of us with this on our q if you have this feature is the car starts sowing down Radom For the route ahead
as if your coming up to a round-a-bout or junction yet your clearly on a straight road
again I'm guessing this is sat nav related and it always does it in the same place

so unless there is a fix come up or a sat nav update (mind there has just been one)
its just annoying thing your have to put up with or don't use the acc set to Speed limit
or just put your foot on the throttle through that section

You can deactivate all off that through the MMI. That was one of the first things I did.

I too turned off the predictive speed adjustment, but the auto adjust for signs can be useful. Like the OP however I have had the car drop to 50 on a clear section of the M4. I just flick the stalk to turn off the cruise and then reactivate it, but do worry it will brake check somebody a bit close one day...

It sounds like speed limits are very strict there, I'd probably keep that too. In the US we can almost always get away with under 10mph over the speed limit. I wish it had a setting to adjust it to stay 8mph over what's posted.

The only bit you can adjust is the speed sign flashing at a set speed by you

ive always set mine to start flashing 5mph over the limit that it's displaying

also I set a ping when I hit 80mph as when overtaking on an A road single carriageway your to busy looking ahead rather than looking at your speed
so least when I hear a ping I know I've hit over 80mph
