It went up to 54.6 mpg but then I got stuck in traffic. I don't think its achievable on regular trips but happy to see that this monster can be so frugal.

No more then late 30's... In fact I think this (4M Q) thing guzzles more than the last 4L model.

wow!!! that's impressive!! I didn't able to do any long trip yet (only dropping kid to the school or friends house and engine is still breaking in) but highest I archived 25.4mpg. How long that trip was for? I also found, Dynamic mode is most fuel efficient and the 'Efficient' mode itself is not that much.

I regularly average 45 on runs varying between 50 and 300 miles. I've found I get significantly better MPG when I'm not using adaptive cruise (and I haven't bothered with ECO mode).

The average MPG on a like for like run using the cruise control is 3mpg less.

A few heavy traffic miles however will knock me down into 38-40 territory.

That's only after 17 minutes driving though, what`s it say after an average commute/ journey? Tank to tank is best way to calculate.

If my goal was to beat that, I would drive 50 mph and try to draft a lorry.
