    Make sure you take the technician for a drive when the car goes in for service so he can hear the noise you are talking about and tell them you want to do that when you book the car in so they are prepared. Years ago, I think on my C5 A6, I had an annoying squeek/rattle in front of me and it turned out to be the airbag in the steering wheel. It was replaced and problem solved.

    Yes, for me I ended up adjusting the steering wheel (both rake and reach). Just a small adjustment to both was needed, although it came back a couple of times initially but I haven't heard it for ages now.
