Hi, I'd be very appreciative of any suggestions/remedies about what's causing the following. The reversing light and rear wiper both suddenly stopped working for about 6 days. They then started working again for 4 days, then stopped again and not working ever since. Fuses were fine and the Haynes manual didn't show any common wiring although they are both activated by reverse gear, not sure how. Curiously I also noticed that the air con Econ switch, the heated rear window switch and the air recirculation switch which all sit together on the dash are also not working - with no obvious connection to reverse gear. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

    HI!
Just got help in this forum from (Flash he is awesome) with my trunk that did not open. Golf mk5 boot release fuse? - Page 3

This could be related. Apparently the wires that cross from trunk / boot to body are to short and the viper ones runs on the right side. See my photo from the left side in threed above. With some force you can pull the rubber protection up and down on the wires and have a look at them. Are they broken or rubbing against each other?
