    Busy specifying Q7.
As part of this was interested in black wheels but none available on Audi.

I wondered whether anyone had changed the wheels on their Q7 & whether it was cost effective.

21" alloys cost an extra £1650 on a new Audi so wondered whether to order 20" wheels then put the savings towards changing wheels.

I'm not even sure if this is possible and where to start?

Help and guidance would be appreciated.

I bought mine as an ex-demo but really wanted the wheels in black. The price of getting them refinished is much more cost effective than buying new wheels. I'm waiting until I can be without the car for a few days and then getting them sorted for about the cost of a single OEM rim.

Cheers. Wasn't sure whether having wheels resprayed would work long term as incorrectly assumed they would then need respraying every year?

As long as you find somewhere reputable to have them done, they should be as good as Audi provide them (maybe better). Shop around though, quality of finish varies.

Just one thing: I was told that the cabin noise from a 21" wheel is really bad, especially with some tyres manufactures. Dunlop reported to be best for 21". I have no proof but that's what I just heard. I got mine 20" with Pirelli Scorpion, which seems okay to me. I was also told that air-suspension is must for any wheel larger than 20".

Will look into the 20" option. Although did like the look of the 21"

I run 21" with Continentals on mine, I also have the air suspension. Quieter than my C7 A6 was on 19's, also quieter than my dads XC90. Not sure if it's the air suspension making the difference or not, haven't ridden in one without it.

Dedicatedly going to have air suspension as well as AWS but will still look into 20vs21 wheels.

They look great. I've thought about doing the same but not priced it up yet. Did they turn out well in terms of quality? Can't believe Audi didn't offer this colour as an option. They do on the RS models.
