hi, i need to get my rear shocks changed, i have a mk6 2.0 gt tdi golf which has a lowered suspension.
can i buy standard shocks for the car or do they need to be specifically low profile?

i've read some places its the springs which makes the vehicle sit lower and not shocks. other places i've read that i cant use standard shocks and need to buy low profile shocks.

Hi, i would go for a pair of Bilstein B4's, i had these on my lowered Passat and they were fantastic. As soon as mine need replacing on my Mk6 estate, i'm getting the Billys again

You can fit whichever dampers you want but if you want it to work as intended you would fit the special dampers of which there are a few variations, PM me your reg number and I can tell you the correct options. The rear bump stops will also need replacing, these are specifically matched to the cars lowering SPRINGS and MUST match or the car feels really odd.
