Voltage fault caodes - alternator problem?

Hi,
I've just bought a 2007 A3 2.0 TDI 170. I've had it scanned and its come up with a few fault codes, may of them voltage related. I read somewhere it could be related to the alternator failing. Can anyone confirm this. Thanks in advance for any help.
