Installed this morning as was keen to look at some of the new features e.g sync iMessage between iPhone and iPad as well as any benefits to CarPlay (Siri / Apple Maps)

Haven’t had time to fully test new features but happy with the stability so far.

When I went to iOS 10 public beta, I had a lot of apps that wouldn’t even start, such as Sky Go and BT Sport. Can’t find any this time round but I believe any old non-64bit ones are blocked.

At least it looks like a roll back won’t be required!

Applied to iPhone 6S Plus and iPad Air 2.

I'm a developer but have still held off of applying this to my 'daily driver'.
Reports so far have been positive however as long as you're not depending on any 32bit apps.
I'd be careful with the iCloud sync of messages for anything important...

Good point, always some risk etc.

I don’t keep anything on the phone that isn’t synced elsewhere, just in case the phone is lost or stolen.

As long as you’ve got an archived backup in iTunes, it’s a well documented rollback.

Use a secure backup, otherwise there is a chunk of keychain data and the like which isn't included in the backup.

Are the pictures alongside contacts new?

As the screen is blocked when calling, had to take it quick when call cancelled so not in focus!

I don't get pictures on my calls - iirc Android does but Apple didn't...
