    Hi

this showed up on a scan at the weekend - no date attached to the fault. From reading up it sees. Component protection means a trip to the dealers to remove the fault, but as it says "intermittent" is it a real problem? No airbag error light is displayed, but when I run a VCDS scan "ESP fault" shows on the dashboard display then goes away.

Can this be caused by a dying battery, as I've had to get a charger onto it a couple of times due to SOC low warnings.

I wouldn't worry, random bugs can make their way into a controller.

And yes, the ESP fault when scanning is normal.

Thanks Chris, so I can assume my airbags are working because there's no fault light and it's safe to ignore the error on vcds? Good to hear the ESP fault while scanning is normal. Had me a bit worried!
