    Hi Guys,

i have an 2012 A6 C7 estate and have been receiving these error messages for the past month. Strange thing is that sometimes it can go for a week without any message, and then sometimes every time I start the car I get these messages.

I have already had some relays, ABS sensor on a wheel and also battery replaced. None of these helped. Have any of you encountered this behaviour please?

Thank you for your help guys.

Have you had pads or discs changed recently?
it could be something simple and a multi plug wasn't connected properly or the wiring loom could be buggered. Especially the rears as there are a lot of people out there who think they know how to work the electronic brake when replacing pads/discs and end up breaking the rear calipers.
its all connected, tpms and esp relies on the abs sensor and the abs sensor uses a toothed ring on the hub/disc.

Thank you for your advice. I was receiving the errors even before i had the front brake pads changed. They were wore down, so had to replace them. Not the rear ones though.

The wheel sensor that was replaced based on error message readings was the drivers front.

Could it be something related to fact that i had winter tyres&rims swapped for summer ones? Last year I had no trouble with this swap, but is it possible they broke something when they were swapping them round?

Havind said that, the garage would have probably spotted any problems as they were replacing brake pads.

I had that on CC, did a scan and it was rear right abs sensor. 10 miles later left one died.

Am I assuming right that the scan should tell you which sensor is the one in question? They did the scan and based on results, replaced the ABS sensor. This however has not cured the problem in my case

Could it be the toothed ring that the sensor relies on rather than the sensor itself?
The abs sensor detect speed from this toothed ring by measuring the pulses. If the ring is buggered then it will throw up a warning fault.

VCDS will tell you exactly which sensor is causing an issue. It could be dirt on the toothed ring or just another sensor died. They all have same mileage. That happend to me. Instead of replacing both rear at the same time I had to do it week after week.
