I bet that must have let you puzzled after the message appeared the second time. I am thinking that maybe as they tried to make the summer wheel loose, they had to give it a wobble and maybe that damaged the bearing or the reluctor ring for the abs. I will mention it in the garage. Thank you for the advice.

Hi Guys, so it's all sorted now. It's been faulty wiring from ABS sensor to control unit. It kept tripping due to steering wheel mechanically acting on the wire. What an error. Great thanks to guys at 4rings garage who identified it.

    Hi bubak
I have the exact same issue with my 2012 C7
even the intermittent error which has not been fixed by 2 different garages... very frustrating - plus my ABS is not working which I found out yesterday - so quite urgently need this fixed.
do you recall did they change the cable and if so, was that the fix?
any other info that I can pass on to the mechanic would be really helpful and appreciated.
    cheers

It can be one of the ABS sensors . Did they do vcds scan? It would tell you exactly which one failed.

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea what that is but I will ask. They were not Audi specialists so maybe do not have the right equipment.

VCDS is a diagnostic tool made by ross-tech. There might be someone on this forum who is in your area and could do the scan for you. I’m in Ireland if that helps
