    Hi

    I have a 2006 A3 170 BHP Quattro S-line with only 68,000 miles and Full SH.

A month ago the engine management light came on, I took it to my local VW/Audi indy specialist who replaced an exhaust sensor and re-set the car

£200 bill and a perfect car, for a few days, then the DPF light came on, back to the garage who confirmed the DPF was only 10/15 % full, but they did a re-generation on it and reset the system inc software update.

All good for a few days then the DPF light is back on.

The garage have said 'off the record' look at a by-pass and re-map, they don't offer this service, I have read that a functioning DPF will be required for the MOT at some point in the future, is this true ?

Has anyone had there DPF removed along with re-map and if so what was the cost ? I am not looking for a performance re-map, just to get the blooming light off

Can anyone recommend a garage in my area ? I live in between Oldham and Huddersfield

In the mean time, can I run the car with this light on / will anything else be affected but just ignoring the light ?

Many thanks for any advice / suggestions

    Ian

If the DPF gets fully blocked the car will not drive, removing a factory fitted DPF is illegal.

You have an issue and sounds like the garage never found what it was.
