    Hi all,

My air con stopped working so I had it regassed but it still didn't work. After reading on here about the G65 high pressure / thrust sensor, I thought for £25 it would be worth a try.

So I followed the guides for replacement on here, bumper off and headlight out. Removed the plug from the sensor. Next up was put a 17mm spanner on the sensor to unscrew it. This is where I think I had a problem.

The sensor came off, but not via any threaded screws - it popped/blew off followed by the woosh of my air con refrigerant escaping. There are no threads on the air con pipe the sensor connects to so I can't see anyway this can be right. There is no way to fit a new one or even the existing one.

Can anyone advise? What I thought would be a simple job now appears to have turned into a headache. Any help/advice appreciated.

Nasty, the sensor thread has sheared off in the AC pipe, new pipe. That can also cause nightmares as they don't like coming of the condenser or the valve block.

Does anyone have a photo of what the end of the A/C pipe should look like with the sensor removed?

Any ideas on the best place to get a replacement pipe?

It would look a bit like a big tyre valve.

Thanks for the photo. My valve that should be on the A/C pipe is inside the pressure switch.

New pipe it is then. Does anyone know of any guides for replacement or tips on the process to avoid breaking anything further?

Did you check for a live feed at the plug 1st? I done one the other day and it was just a fuse blown.

Yes, checked the fuses - both fine.

I assume no issues with the plug connection, as when it's removed the ECON light is on. When it was plugged in - no ECON light on.
