I found your email under spam...

I belive if you did not find the valve, you should test this, change to 1 and delete error:
    Adaption channel 73
    Basic setting ex factory: 0
Adaption for fitting and activation of Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422.
    - The Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422- is only fitted at start of production and only in vehicles with a 4- or 6-cylinder petrol engine. (Omitted in model year 2008.)
If an optional extra auxiliary heater is fitted in vehicles with these engines, no Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422 is installed.
    - If the Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422 is indicated as a fault on a vehicle not fitted with a Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422, change the adaption in this adaption channel.
J At basic setting 0 the Climatronic control unit -J255 expects that a Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422- is connected to connector T20e chamber 18 only when so stipulated by the coding for this vehicle, and activates it as required (see measured value block 079).
J At setting 1 the Climatronic control unit -J255 assumes that no Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422 is fitted in this vehicle.
J At setting 2 the Climatronic control unit -J255- expects that a Climatronic coolant shut-off valve -N422- is always connected to connector T20e chamber 18 regardless of the coding, and activates it as required (see measured value block 079).

I have different engine and only 1 zone climate, but I can make channel map also as you requested, but I don't think it will help much!

Thanks so much Gunnark, problems sorted, how channel 73 changed is beyond me. Everything working as it should now, nice and cold and without fault code.

Do you have a list of what the adaptation channels are for and what they switch, or where I should be looking for this information as the likes of ETKA just refer to Vas. This is something I have tried looking for but can find no reference to what the channels are for or what they do apart from the odd forum post for retrofits.

It would be great to have this information as I can see this is the thing that is missing from having a VCDS cable, its like having all the tools but with no reference to the correct torque settings.

Many Thanks once again for all the help and time you have given.

No problem, glad everything working without error. Still mystery with this valve etc...but keep eye on winter time(will it start blow warm air as it was before or not), summertime no difference!
Will send you one source later, regarding module, adaption, sensor info!
