Aircon not working 02 Tdi Awx

Greetings, as the subject header says my aircon is working badly if at all. It wasn't really apparent in the uk but I'm currently in Spain and it's clearly not doing much. I previously checked the system pressure which was fine and the clutch seems to operate when I switch out of economy mode. Also the fuse is good.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

in air con mode, does the heater blow hot if you turn the heating up ?

Hi, I had a similar problem with mine. First I had to replace my air con pump. Then I noticed that when I put on my air con on, the electric fan did not come on. that was a cheap fix, just replaced the brushes. When i had the system tested, they notice that the pipes by the battery was not getting cold. The guy who filled my gas told me it was a simple fix, he said I just needed the replace the orifice tube. It is situated under the battery. Replaced it and the air con is working perfectly. The price for the orifice tube was R30 (South African rand). Luckily the guy did not charge me again to regas the air con. Maybe you have the same problem. The orifice tube gets clogged with dirt, thefore not allowing cold air through the system. Good luck

Pressure alone doesn't mean the system has the correct amount of gas.
