Ive noticed clutch biting point getting lower, clutch still strong, no juddering or other problems so Im hoping its just the slave cylinder.

Ive been looking into bleeding clutch to see if that helps but it looks like a nightmare to get to - any tips out there - best to go in from the top or from underneath? - I havent got a car lift but do have some car ramps and jacks / stands.

    any help / advice appreciated!

I think the route to the slave cylinder is through the N/S wheel arch, by taking off the inner trims and driveshaft heat shields.
I've never bled or changed the fluid from the slave cylinder due to the pig of a job getting to it. I just regularly change the brake fluid through the wheel cylinders, and hope the stale clutch fluid eventually gets diluted by the fresh fluid in the reservoir. It's worked for 16 years and 200,000 miles so far!

thanks for replies, I agree bluezie Ive looked after and done most jobs on my cars but never had to bleed the clutch?!

fortunatly this isn't my daily drive so there no urgency but the jobs are stacking up! Im thinking I might change the slave cylinder anyway by the time Ive got to it - anyone done that???
