yes mate it is. next question is as completely blocked whats your opinion on removal of dpf and remap or spend 1400 on dpf.

The reason I ask is its most likely not been regening,the clutch switch on a manual if goosed will prevent regens,auto boxes you notice because the cruise drops out,remove it and get it cleaned,get the regens working,check your exhaust pipe tips see if they're oily,before that if you've still got access to the snap on gear you can try some forced regens,may take a few gos but worth a try before removal.

the thing is off now could.nt force a regen as it totally stopped the car, only reason i notice was because i open up the egr port and it started . is there anything you could recommend to clean it with as its blocked solid cannot if blow down it.

You could try one of the dpf cleaners from your local factors like liqui moly,never tried them so can't say if they're any use,you could try a pressure washer to get the bulk out,then try a cleaner,best way is to get it professionally cleaned.I'm suprised you haven't got any differential pressure alarms.can I correct my previous post it should read manuals with cruise you notice not auto boxes.

well after 2 hours with a jet wash i finally got a flow coming through. hopefully it enough to fix the problem. should a perform a force re gen once fitted?. how much life should one expect from a d p f as my car has done 116000 now.

I would force a regen,how long it lasts is anyone guess,as you've seen its a fine honeycomb type construction passing forwards and backwards,some people drill some holes to aid flow(not legal of course before anyone jumps all over me)if you do get it up and running get its passive regens working.
