    yep, mine has done 156K. I've done all the discs + pads and new calipers on the front, cambelt twice, new radiator, new front wings from VW last year. All the water ingress gremlins fixed, Plenum bungs removed, new side airbag sensors. Always serviced at 10-12K miles (since I got it at 70K miles) with new filter and 507 oil. It starts and runs eveyday come rain or shine. I'll be sorry to see it go but it is 12 years old and I fancy something a bit newer

    he will get a 3 or 4 year old one now, it will be great for a bit , then the bills start coming in as stuff falls off. sad but true.

    The octavia estate I looked at the other month was a 50k odd 2011 scout 1.8tfsi, TBH opening the bonnet it looked and felt a lot cheaper and less well made than the 2005 B5 passat I was offered 800 for against it. I wasn't convinced by the engine ( are they all that rattly?) and rust blisters appearing in a few places, (door corner, tailgate) nice trim inside and a few more gadgets, but I think I'll keep the old B5 for a while yet.
