    Hi,

I've an issue with unlocking the passenger door. I believe its an electrical issue because when I press the fob the back doors and boot will lock but the drivers door will stay open and the alarm doesn't engage. I have to lock the drivers door using the key which locks all doors and engages the alarm. I'm guessing the door card will have to be ripped open from the inside to access the lock mechanism. Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

First place to go is the connector plug in the door post, check both sides, drivers & passenger,

These suffer from green corroded electrical pin connectors, this causes all kinds of locking issues,

    Hope this helps

As above to a degree, more likely broken wires in the rubber boot inside the drivers door shut/hinge area.
I am doing the same with my b6 cabby at the moment, using key in drivers door to lock it and arm immobiliser.I have had this issue countless times in the past and had to repair broken wires, probably about time for a new piece of loom.
Usually the break is in the drivers side because of years of open/close of the door and basically folding old cables continuously, you may experience poor locking/unlocking action, electric window failure, speaker failure, alarm non arming, etc...etc
