    Hi all,
Thinking about buying the VCDS from Gendan with 3 users for £225.

Ross-Tech VCDS (VAG-COM) Packages :: Gendan Automotive Products

Is this still the best bet for amateur diagnostics?

    Cheers

IMO yes VCDS is still the best for a amateur,
sure VCP can do a few things cannot, but it is also not as user friendly and has more scope to bugger a controller up, VCP also has a yearly subscription to keep it up to date.

Given a choice I always pick up my VCDS interface before the VCP interface.

Well I don't know about other interfaces, but I can say that the help that Ross-Tech give is worth twice the interface price. They have forums full of helpful users and their own staff. I can't recommend them enough.
