    Hi folks,
So as the title suggests, I'm in some doubt as to which belt to get. I've a 04 Bora TDi 100BHP, and the belt decided to up and disintegrate somewhere out in the country last night, so I've no belt to compare it to. The Haynes manual is no use, as it just gives me diagrams for both with and without aircon. All I can find out is that I need the one that turns the aircon compressor as well, but I don't know if I need single or double sided ones.

Micksgarage.com is no use, and indeed they are recommending two different length belts for use with aircon, which is... unseemly. Most are offering the 1195mm version, so I'm just presuming that's the one I need, but I'm not positive by a long shot.

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated,
    Cheers,
    WP

Hi! I recently had a similar quandary - I ordered a new tensioner and the pulley was smooth instead of ribbed. On closer inspection the belt had worn the old one slightly so it resembled a grooved pulley!

I have an '02 with the same engine (I think) and it uses a double sided belt.

Ps. It's usually best to post / search in the Golf IV section as nobody seems to read the Bora section.

Sorted indeed cheers, I went for a double sided belt, which was bang on. The flat tensioner was a bit of a red herring.
