Wipers started to work intermittently. Now they've completely packed in.

My thinking is that the stalk is needing replacing as motors usually just fail completely.

Any ideas? Or anyone that can help?

Checked all fuses. It's strange as they were working for a few weeks intermittently.

This may sound farfetched but there is a microswitch in the latch of the boot/bonnet and if the car detects it's open the wipers don't work. It's possible that the microswitch has failed.

Although the fuse may look OK, it's always best to check with a multimeter for continuity. Even new things can be faulty.

Failing those two options you could get a scan using vcds to see if that could shine some light on the subject.
