Replacing the crankshaft sensor G28 IN Audi A6 3.0

Hi all, got a 2006 A6 3.0 Quattro unfortunately now it will turn over but will not start, in Carista I am getting this error P0322 Engine Speed Sensor (G28): No Signal
My understanding is that it's a fault with the crankshaft sensor
So I bought one and decided to do some DIY repair but can't seem to be able to locate it even removed the passenger side wheel but could not see it
Any help ! Thanks
P.S yes I have tried to Google it but no clear instructions
Engine code is BMK if that would help

G28 connector or wiring failure will also give you this fault. Here's the G28 connector on the topside

Follow it down to the G28 sensor. I think it's on the top left of the gearbox. Try looking at pictures of gearboxes for sale to ID the location.
