    Hi
My 2005 A6 avant keeps coming up with a front right bulb fail warning but I can't see a bulb not working.
Its very annoying and I still jump a mile every time the warning sounds!

Thank you Dan - tells me it is sidelight/daylight running light.
Anyone confirm this is a W5W? Will LED bulbs show as an error?

did your car come with bulbs when you got it ?

stick in old fashioned bulbs and see if this cures the fault

sometimes these capless bulbs, simply need turned upside down to work, the wee wispy wires can break off and not make a contact on one side........................ turning them upside down gets them going................................. If they are black or a mad reflective silver colour .................... they are burnt out

The car measures the resistance needed to power the bulb. So If the LED bulbs only take 2 watts to run a 5 watt bulb, then the car thinks the bulb is faulty................... same way a bulb may be taking 7 watts to run a 5 watt bulb ...................... meaning the bulb is on its way out as its using too much juice, even though its working

The battery has a regulator monitoring it & nowadays its connected up to a Convenience Monitor. If the battery is Low, the CM switches off certain things to stop the battery from going flat .......................... roughly.

You need to re-program the CM to say you have LED bulbs instead of old fashioned bulbs

To me, I would stick in normal bulbs and wait till you buy another car which will more than likely have LED fitted .................................. stick to saving money in your home with bigger bills

    AUDI A6 C5 CCM CONVENIENCE COMFORT CONTROL MODULE 4B0962258B 4B0 962 258 B

this is what I am talking about. If you look at the 4B0 962 258 B number, this will be different to cars with EITHER standard bulbs OR LED bulbs

Maybe someone with VCDS can reprogram your car ?
