17 = Compressor off (no signal or implausible signal from High Pressure Sensor -G65-)

Yes no power from control unit if there is a shut off code

So g65 first. Then make sure you have enough gas in the system. Erase faults and it should be all good.

System re-gassed. Loss was 0.250Kg (capacity 0.575Kg) and no leaks apparent. Fault still evident.

I've ordered a new pressure sensor, fingers crossed it's that simple.

Pressure switch replaced, no change to fault.

As I suspected, the fault lies with the lack of power to the switch. Does anyone have an accurate wiring diagram for a 2004 RHD Touran TDi or know where the power comes from for the G65 switch?

    Many thanks

Ok climatic manual ac Up to April 2005 shows pin1 is earth... 2 is sensor voltage to pin 5 on ac control unit... 3 is live to pin 7 on relay fuse plate 1 to fuse f3 5amp. But also check fuse f52 f35 f15 f31 f7 f24 also f6 (80 or 100 amp). Fuse f3 gets its power from terminal 1 on fuse plate back to fuse f40 20amp and f8 10 amp .

Quite often problems have the simplest of resolutions.....

Checked fuse plate 1 and lo and behold, no fuse in position 3!

Quite why not, I have no idea. I hadn't noticed the missing fuse, but did check all those that were there. Closer inspection found the 5A fuse in the wrong position.

It's possible that the fuse was moved because of a fault, but I'm not refitting the old sensor to find out.

It all appears to be working now, so good news. Thank you for your help.

No worries. Glad its fixed. The switches are common as muck so I wouldn't be too upset about replacement.
