Delivered my Passat down to Southampton yesterday -- as they say: "when they're good, they're very very good, but when they're bad they're horrid!"

Must say, even though VW's management lets the whole side down, the product still can be excellent -- so long as you stay on top of all the mods, advice in forums such as this, etc

It's been 10 years next month since I PX'ed a manual B5.5 for this, the buyer knew what he was getting and so paid the correct sum rather than the silly depressed prices you see on the 'net for an '06MY

I hate long goodbyes... <sniff!> It's been emotional...

I got rid of mine last week too, good riddance tbh.

The faults spoiled what was otherwise a really nice car.

    So I bought another! B7 2012 🤣

    Enjoy whatever comes next!

From personal experience, I'd advise against a Ford. I've had the C-Max for just over two years and can't wait to get rid of it. But the Merc, ahh, the Merc. They have some silly cheap deals on DtD if you want a new 'un, but even an old one would give me a smile bigger than any Passat after even the limited amount of hassle I had. I'm keeping mine for at least another 3 years, I'm so smitten.

Driving - Shiny new E350 Estate.. Just Arrived - Aggh! a C-Max. What have I done?
Just Gone - 2008 Passat 2.0CR TDi DSG Estate + toys, 2007 Golf GTI

Once, cars were simple and I was smart. Now things are the other way around.
