1.9tdi boost issues. p1557

Hi all cars been running well. been doing a few miles which is good

getting it ready for mot. new handbrake cables etc

on the motorway i accelerated to overtake a car (quite briskly) the car slow down. i could still hold 80mph but no power

once i turned the car off and on it was fine again. on the way home it did it again but at a lower speed

plugged in vag com and it come up with p1557. which shows as overboost. the car is mapped but ive been much faster then these speeds before

looking online it shows a possible accuator fault. how hard are these to replace. what other things to suggest to cure the problem

Sticking vnt turbo common fault try freeing up the vnt actuater arm on turbo spray it with some penetrating fluid see how it goes other than that only way to cure it would be recon turbo

Thanks all checked turbo no play in the shaft actuator moves up and down when vacuum pipe is taken off seems to move free enough

Noticed on the vacuum pump the exit seems to have play. I have some videos but don't know how to upload from my phone
