    Hi
I have this problem of a sloshing sound behind dash. I have been to a local garage and we have:
    1) Removed glove box and checked heater matrix etc. No water found.
    2) Removed front carpets. No water or dampness found.
    3) Cleared plenums on either side of inner wings. Thought problem solved as was holding some water.
    4) Garage said that there was two more drains positioned either side of gearbox which are clear.

Not sure what to do next, do not know where Air Con drain is on this model, can only find details on previous D3 platform. Don't believe I have seen water underneath car so possibly a blockage. Air con works as it should and sloshing sound is heard if it is on or off.

In February the dash was removed by Audi and a new pop up screen mechanism fitted at a cost of £600. it was clicking. The car has covered just 40,000 miles and is a 2010 model.

Any knowledge on what next or where the air con drain is would be most appreciated. Despite the age of this car I can find virtually nothing on it unlike the D3 where all can be found!

Hopefully someone knows something out there.

Yes I have had this a few times, it is water inside the heater box itself. You have to dismantle the box in the plenum chamber so you can get at the blocked drain inside.

Thank you. That would seem to make total sense. Really appreciated that you took the time to let me know, been quite stressed with it as nobody could help and unfortunately the local Audi absolutely no use whatsoever, just want a diagnostic fee of £60 to start!!!! Thanks again.

Is is a difficult job to do and will the water have done any damage in the meantime or is it contained?

Just wondered from your experience if it was difficult to dismantle the heater box and are there any electrics that this water could affect.

Does anyone know where the outlet is for the Air Con from underneath the car?

Yes it can cause electrical havoc. The condensation outlets are down both sides of the centre tunnel, accessible after removing the glovebox and drivers shelf and folding back the carpet but these are normally clear ALTHOUGH cars built upto mid 2012 have been known to have the drains incorrectly routed but this normally cause condensation inside the car.. The plenum drains are almost impossible to see from above or below, the only way to see them I have found is by using my endoscope camera, removing the upper bulkhead panel can help, there are five on some versions, three on the right and two on the left. The outer drains can be accessed after removing the wheel arch liners, it is a crap design!
