As you may guess from my question, this is not my normal area of the forum, but I am assuming that you chaps are experts on this more basic problem.
My A4 B8 S line saloon (2008) has developed an unfortunate case of lacquer lifting on the rear bumper behind the rear wheels. I suspect that it has been encouraged by pressure washing, which I expect you all regard as a form of vandalism but which is all I have had time for.
Is there a reasonable solution other than having the rear bumper re-painted and lacquered?
Is this a 12 year corrosion warranty issue? I don't think it should happen even if subjected to pressure washing which is an almost ubiquitous method adopted by most motorists.

Any constructive advice will be gratefully received.

Thanks Z. I believe it is the original and don't think it has been re-painted.
Is it worth cleaning up and removing the loose lacquer and slapping on a bit of lacquer to seal the edges and prevent further lift, I wonder.
Being quite low down and on a car that is by no means pristine, it may not be worth the expense of a full bumper re-paint but I don't want it to spread.
