Hi all, my first post here.
Does anyone else have a problem with smearing and skipping wipers front and rear? I can hardly see when it rains at night and my car/wipers are pretty new and little used. Any tips? Thanks!

What have you been washing it with? It sounds like wax on the glass from a car wash. Use Autoglym glass polish.

Hi there & welcome to the forum.

When you say they are pretty new and little used - how new is the car?

As Crasher has said have you used anything to wash the car windscreens or wipers at all - which could be a possible problem?

As for the skipping I get that on my rear wiper occasionally but only on it's first movement up the screen and put it down to the windscreen being dry in the wiper placement area?

Get some undiluted screen wash on a cloth and wipe the blade rubbers once you've polished the glass

I treated my rear screen with Aquapel which has improved things. Will try it on the front next time I give it a decent wash.

Have used rainx previously but doesn't last very long.

As above use some good window polish not cleaner but polish like the auto glym glass polish

    or use IPA rubbing alcohol

or pannel wipe is really good

also wipe the wipper blades with IPA or pannel wipe

of course you can always try using vinegar

if washing the car car don't use wash and wax as it can smear your screen also

if it's been protected with a water replant then you have to get it removed by a detailer and get them to machine polish with a special glass pad

Hi, my Q7 is 10mths old and 2.5k miles on it only. Last wash was by Audi in their garage! I have used Autoglass fast glass to clean the windscreen in the past, but that's just a window cleaner basically. I've told Audi about it and had the wipers replaced soon after I got the car but doesn't seem to have improved it permanently.

Actually thinking of swapping the wipers for Bosch Aerotwin. They get good reviews inline. Think that would help?
Would attempt to get Audi to pay for them too!

Might help yes but befor you put them on get some glass polish and some IPA and give it a good rub
be a waste just putting new blades on and not doing a real good clean on the windscreen
