    Hi

I am having problems with the Turbo on my 2003 1.9TDI . The symptoms pressing the accelerator = no pull like their used to be. It happened on the Motorway at first i thought id just hit a sudden gust of wind that slowed me down but it wasn't that .

I guess i need an error code to work out the real problem ?

    you do

it could be a Mass Air Flow meter or similar

Try keeping the car in 2nd gear for a few hundred yards and blast it. You want the revs to be just under the red for the duration and keep it there until yo clear the exhaust of rubbish

you will need to do this once a month, fuel economy & power should return
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

All 3 cars in the current fleet

And you could also do a visual check on all mini vacuum hoses for cracks or maybe pulled off.

hi had this on ours . sticky turbo vaines .can try a cheap a very effective method of undoing the egr pipe to the top of the turbo and spraying Mrmuscle oven cleaner into the turbo to clean out the carbon build up. spray the whole can in and leave for half a hour. if probleum solved then log term solution will be a new turbo.

Do it twice and 2hrs apart and move turbo actuator arm every 15 mins .

You don't need whole can as you stop when foam is at egr port on exhaust manifold .

Had the same issue on mine the other week, plus an EML for turbo vanes or whatever the code is.

I bought some turbo cleaner from Halfords, popped it in with half a tank then went for an Italian tune up. Has solved the issue now. If that doesn't work you'll want to take the egr and or turbo off and give them a good clean, it will be the carbon deposits causing the issue, I'd sort this before thinking of replacing any parts if I were you - or touching the maf, which is fragile
