It's time for a new set of tyres for my A6 (245-45-18) and was wondering whether anyone has tried the Michelin Crossclimates? The reviews look good, but there's nothing like a bit of first hand knowledge!

I have fitted a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3's to my A6 on xmas eve, got a puncture couple weeks ago and had all the tread depths measured, they still at 7mm even after nearly 6k miles. They handle great and road noise isn't a problem. Mine are 225/55/17

i run the cross climates, they are awesome. best tyre i have ever had in the rain, very good in the dry or in muddy side roads. yeah, wouldnt bother with anything else now i have tried them.. not had any snow yet but have had some ice on the road which they handled well.

I think you can't go wrong with Crossclimate's. Lots of good reviews about them -- tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/CrossClimate_2.htm.

Another vote for Uniroyal but this time for Rain Expert 3's. Exceptional value for money and always rated consistently high on Tyre reviews, tests and ratings - Tyre Reviews

Id recommend Rain Sport 3s too- had about 4000 miles on mine and they are good, grippy, quiet and good in the wet. Only slight negative (if you a re super fussy) is they are a little soft in terms of sidewall stiffness= a little less precise or a little more compliant depending on which is your desired effect
