    Hi all,

I had the "brake pads worn" come up on DIS every time i started the car since about 2 weeks ago and the yellow brake symbol would light up and stay on.

I changed the rear pads last week and to my annoyance they had 70% left on them! The light was still on, so I changed the fronts over the weekend and again, 70% left! Changed the wear sensors, used Ferodo OEM pads but every time I start the car DIS keeps displaying "brake pads worn" and the yellow lights stays illuminated for the journey.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Did you use genuine sensor kit?
Also did you plug everything back in

dodgy connection somewhere in one of the wires. theres 2 wires per sensor, and electric has to be able to flow down one and back up the other. any breaks or poor connections and the warning light comes on.

I use an old safety pin thats been grounded on a grinder i work it back and forward in the terminals on the loom to the pads and that usually fixes it .

Used the OEM spec Ferodo kit which came with new sensor and wires, so connected everything up and made sure it was all secure. Could try and clean up the terminals with some sand paper. Wonder why the light came on so early though as the brakes weren't even close to 50% worn when it came up.

Cheers, will give it a wiggle! I found it odd that despite the complexity and amount of information available in modern cars like these, that they can't show whether it's the front or back that is "worn". Would certainly speed up diagnostics!

pad warning light comes on, inspect brakes. if it said fronts then you wouldnt check the rears.. they shouldnt really be relied upon anyway, usually only on one pad per side, sometimes only one pad per end, so if another pad wears out first, or a caliper or slide is jammed then it ends up costing you a set of discs as well. best to do a visual check yourself every so often. inner pads can usually be checked using a small miror on a stick and torch, through the spokes on the alloys.

Same problem I've got. It's looking like a wire problem in the loom from the sensor connector to ....wherever it goes.... on mine. If I drive only in a straight line it doesn't come on, but if I turn (especially left) then the beep and symbol appears

When I had this, I changed the front pads and sensor, but light was still on. Spent ages fault finding etc, to discover rear pads had worn down at the same time. Changing rear pads and sensor cured it.
