    Hello All!

I have searched & trawled through previous posts & I have found similar problems but failing to find one that has actually successfully diagnosed & fixed with costs etc...So I will have to ask the question.

I have a 2008 Audi A6 S-Line Estate & after suffering with the dreaded DPF, EGR removed cleaned & put back & also a split Intercooler Turbo Pipe I am now faced with a terrible juddering & shaking in low gears, the warmer the car gets the worse the judder. I have read on this forum about various gearbox problems & costly clutch upgrades but need to eliminate other problems before going to that expense?

Here is a short YouTube video of the problem - 2008 Audi A6 S-Line Auto Juddering Shaking - Any Ideas? - YouTube

I have owned the car since last June & up until the initial DPF problem it never missed a beat, I have done about 15/20k in the last 9 months or so. I have had it services twice & also had it Terracleaned.

Any other pointers or advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance guys

Could be the EGR valve, mine used to kangaroo down the road jerking and juddering.
Even though you've cleaned yours it could still be faulty.
I've since had mine re mapped and deleted and I've fitted a straight pipe in it's place.
no more problems on that front

It seems like a strange coincidence that the problem occurred since the EGR cleaning? What about if the EGR is unplugged?

having thought a bit more about the EGR?

I initially took the car into the garage for a severe black smoke problem, after having it Terracleaned & EGR cleaned this juddering has started. The EGR is currently blanked off & unplugged.

I am at my wits end with it to be fair...Best case scenario is change the EGR valve...Worst case scenario gearbox fault?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Have you had the EGR deleted from the ecu ?
You can't just blank it off and unplug it, it has to be mapped out.

Did the garage blank it off ?
    They should know better.

I'd remove the blank plate and plug it back in, if it runs ok get it
Remapped, EGR deleted and blanked off correctly at the exhaust side.
Only speaking from experience as that exactly what I've done.

The garage that did the DPF removal deleted the EGR from the ECU, but the AA blanked it off temporary when I reported the breakdown.

The AA blanked the EGR to try to reduce/stop the smoke problem. It was juddering before the AA blanked it off though.

Blanking it off stopped the smoke. The AA thought the juddering was due to the 'THEN' split pipe. The split pipe has been replaced but the judder still remains! It seems to get worse the warmer the car gets??

    Thanks again.

Nick we seem to be getting into in dribs and drabs,

    1) The car ran fine initially
    2) Did it run fine after the DPF removal and EGR delete
    3) If it had been mapped out I believe they would have blanked it as well, but from above it would seem not?
    4) Totally disassociated but since it's a multitronic has the gearbox fluid/filter been changed every 38k miles?

    Hi mate,

Thanks for your questions, answers as follows:

1, Only owned the car since June last year, Car run fine until one busy day with lots of short hops, DPF failed to regen, ended up having remove, remap & EGR delete.

2, Car ran fine after DPF removal etc...more power, better performance. Although it was smokey, guy said this was normal after having DPF removed. It seemed to get worse n worse but this could have been down the then unknown split pipe.

3, They must have not blanked it off because I watched the AA bloke do it.

4, I'm not sure, I've looked in the service book but it's not mentioned, so have to presume not.

    Thanks again.
