Hi guys, quick question. Been toying with the idea to have my C7.5 avant lowered using springs on the existing shocks.

Been offered a good deal on a set of immaculate set of 20" Twin Spoke Alloys 4G9601025M. The guy selling the wheels has had them on an A6 saloon and turns out he has some 15mm spacers and also has a set of Eibach Springs (E10 15 018 02 22)

Had a look on Eibach website for a 2018 2.0 diesel C7 and the part number is E10-15-018-06-22. Wanted to ask if there is actually any difference in these springs? Or whether I should just go ahead and buy the alloys, spacers and lowering springs as a bundle. It will save a couple of hundred quid but I want to make sure I have the correct springs.

Thanks a lot...this forum is a valuable source of information.

Don’t put spacers on. If God wanted the wheels further out he would have made the hubs wider. You risk putting additional stress on the drive shafts, steering, wheel bearings and suspension components that you may well regret in the future. Just friendly advice it could get expensive…

What spec (suspension) is your car? SE/s-line/s-line with the extra drop?
And what is the current (factory) wheel size?
Here's why: my car started as a stock SE on 17". Got the original 20" S6 speedlines so I am rotating summer/winter wheels & rubber. The winter setup is actually all-season now and I'm super happy with that. No spacers involved. HOWEVER non-factory 19"/20" wheels cars (according to Audi) are not suitable for the bigger wheels. So, If yours was on 17 or 18 originally, you are here. Our cars miss a silly piece of metal that sits between the fuel "pipe" and the wheel arch. TBH I drove several years on 20s without it. However, it is cheap to buy and relatively easy to fit. on C7, part number is 4G0201974A (not sure if different on 7.5).
Now the suspension: I started with the Eibachs, ended up adding the Bilstein shocks (after a year or so) together with the original RS6 ARBs. The springs only will give you a lower ride (but only if you're on the SE suspension originally). The springs are progressive so really get the best of both worlds - comfy when not pushing, nice and much stiffer when done so. I loved it. but then, when I did the rest, I was AMAZED. The car was transformed 100% - to the point where (if I want to!) I can push into a controlled all 4 wheel spin out of a corner (only possible with my winter setup). Flat, full control, no "float" whatsoever.
    Hope this helps...

thanks for the reply, this information definitely helps. originally the car was on 17s, upgraded to 20s twinspoke. so looks like I need to invest in the fuel tank plate.

    original suspension is s line

    will consider changing the shocks
