    No noises just 10 mins before it seized up, was a zipping noise which i now think was the lose springs between the flywheel cogs!

    this happened to me on my old 06 a6 2.0 tdi ,i was convinced engine was seized and it was a collapsed dmf which locked engine up

    Quick update, gear box finally out inside was full of bits of springs and crap!

    Should have a part number on it but for a 2008 type 8E with a 1.9 I get 06B 103 551 G at £10.59 + VAT from Audi or TPS.

    Fully fixed and back on the road!! On hindsight, I wish I'd just checked the dmf first rather than taking all the front and sump off.
