    Hello everyone
I've got a seat leon fr 2.0 tdi cr engine
Now i've got a fault code of p0238 map sensor signal high
I've replaced the part and same issue
Replaced again and still same issue
Mechanics did some live data readings
And the issue seems to be when i let go of the throttle
On idle its fine, but as soon as i drive, the map shows excessive pressure (2193mbar) and enters limp mode
On idle when revving the engine (only goes to 2.5/3k rpm), the boost levels rise as they should matching expected boost to about 13-1400mbar, but when i let go of the throttle they jump up to about 1600mbar before coming back down
Now when driving, if i floor it or drive very eco with a light foot, the boost rises and just spikes as i let go of the throttle
It happens even in reverse as well, and thats the engine only revving to 2krpm max, it just instantly goes into limp mode
The dpf has been removed from the car prior to me purchasing it, the egr is still intact, and the maf and egr both read as expected on live data readings, however can't test them on a drive as the car will just go into limp mode after some throttle

What could cause the manifold pressure to become too high when letting go of the throttle?

Once it does read as signal too high p0238, live data readings on vagcom show the map pressure as approx 2193mbar

The wiring looks intact, but i've noticed a few others have repair looms fitted to the older leons, is that the case for the facelift mk2 as well?

Anyone around Sheffield to have a look at it for me?, or know of any good specialists to take it too or know what i can do next as it's really annoying me now

Have you checked the wiring? Loom could be shorting on engine torque.

Can you get a look at the diverter valve adjustment? Also check that the diverter valve holds vacuum.

    Hello
He said he checked around the connector and it seems fine
But the map sensor on this engine is in an awkward position to properly check
Erm is there a common place for breaks?, and where does the wire route through to the ecu?, or should i just get him to follow the wires and see

In fact. Go straight to diverter. Let me know if holds vacuum and if connection to turbo looks okay (you'll need a mirror for this).
If diverter doesn't hold vacuum renew with oem repair kit.

Do diesels have a diverter valve?
    Connection to turbo is fine,
Prior to replacing the sensor the first time i could drive around some times for a day without the fault occurinf, engine off and back on and fault was disappearing, now its there all the time as soon as i try to drive

They do. Vacuum control via solenoid application.

Boost pressure valve is worth looking at, not before DV.
