Since I got my new car a little over a week ago i have noticed the connection for Audi Connect drops out every now and again. Until today it has always reconnected on its own but today it dropped out and did not reconnect on the drive home (about 20 miles). cell reception in this part of the world is not the best so i put the short drop outs down to dead zones in the network but todays drop out was far too long and was in areas I know have good reception. Anyone having similar problems? Should I reset MMI

    Hi Aucuba

This has been known to happen before. What connection are you using for internet? The embedded sim (I believe that provides Audi Connect "connectivity") or Bluetooth via your phone?

Does the Audi Connect sometimes ask you to enter your pin on the MMI screen randomly?

    Thanks

    Andy

It had been pretty stable for me and then when I went to use it a week Sunday ago, it was giving me the login message. Mobile reception for SIM was fine and rebooting MMI did nothing.

Annoying as I'd put an online destination in via myaudi. Perhaps they're fiddling with it ahead of MY18 changes.

I'm using the embedded sim. Audi Connect sometimes says there is no sim and asks me to select something like accept or ignore (can't remember exact wording) I never get asked for a PIN

I have exactly this... press the OK button (or equivalent) and business as usual resumes... but it is nevertheless annoying.

Thanks. Pressing OK normally makes it resume as you say but yesterday that had no effect. This morning it's back working so probably just a glitch.

Reading this I'm not quite sure what your saying?

but on mine every now and then could be once a month or so I get in the car
start up and on the mmi screen it's not showing the sim at all
you can remove the sim refit go on Audi connect and search for sim and nothing it's like it's just vanish or been removed

the only way you can get it working again is do a factory reset on the Audi connect

the other way is just leave it then if by magic the next day you get in the car
start up and it's back as if nothing is wrong and works fine till the next time

if it's the above there is no answer and dealer don't have a clue or Audi uk

there is a couple of us had this fault I've had this since new for the last year and prob happen 8-10 times
ive just been hopping that a software update will cure this

ive had a complete new MMI unit fitted and it still does it so guess it's not the mmi just a software glitch thing

also mine don't have the enbedded sim as it's a MY16 model Q7

I think what I am experiencing is the same thing except I have an embedded SIM and I seem to be experiencing it about once a day (40 mile round trip commute)

So far (fingers crossed) pressing ok resolves the issue.

Not had it much- about 5 times on one single long drive (250 miles) but apart from that 1-2 times in a month.

    Also have embedded SIM.
