VW Golf Mk5 - Door wont unlock -Any help?

Hello,

I have tried to research a way of fixing this issue but I am incapable and want to see if there is any last information or tips out there before I take it to the VW garage...

I am fairly sure this is a common issue, but the passenger door wont unlock with the key lock. Nor the inside door handle lock. Nor in combination, or with windows down, windows up, pressing the key lock, hitting it and pressing and pulling. Its ******. You can hear it trying to work.

It is heading into summer and my girlfriend doesnt want to keep clambering over, or even sitting in the back which is weird.

Any ideas? I followed some donkey's video online about trying to slide the little piece on the cord out of the handle and back, which the guy said would mean you can open it from the inside. Well I couldn't and now I fear I have sealed its fate but please any info or ideas would be great, thanks

I have the same issue with the Mrs Golf TDi 5 door. (Passenger front door)
I did manage to get it stripped down and I oiled parts etc as I was waiting for the replacement to come in via post.
I now have the part and about 2 weeks after getting it open etc it's STOPPED!
I have been trying to get it to open with continued open lock etc but no change.
I did however leave the white cover off from over the lock inside the door.
I have also managed to get the black plastic part off via the rear door and get the torex bolt slackened and get the handle off.
I can see the ORANGE part move to unlock but looks jammed as it just seem to move a small amount but does this twice.
If I pull the handle from inside the car you can see the orange part move all the way to the right.
Any ideas guys?
