I think I have a wobbly wheel! Rear left to be precise.

I took the car out on the weekend with a couple of tool boxes in the boot and it handled awfully, right hand curves with small but frequent bumps and things feel very fluid at the back. The clunk seems to be originating from there now!

Certain bouncy bumps at speed and the car flicks to one side, it's very unnerving.

I've booked into Vindis Cambridge this week as the missus transports the kids about in it and I need it fixed. I'm driving it until this is sorted as it feels unsafe.

That sounds like a weak damper or broken spring.

I'm a bit rusty nowadays but you mentioning dampers made perfect sense! So I ordered 2 more (KYB 343328) and they arrived 10 mins after I got home from work, after faffing around to get the bloody alloy off the hub (in the rain of course) the shock swap was relatively easy, wish I had a 16mm ring spanner!

34k miles is a bit poor for original VW shocks but they were made is Spain! Quite thin compared with the replacements.

I was tempted to go to the dealer as it felt a bit dangerous and is used for the school run etc. Many thanks Crasher...

Oops, for clarity for the next poor soul the REAR shocks were at fault in the end.
